sql express 2005 connection error

Feb 19, 2008 at 11:05 AM
Hi,

I get an error that no connection could be made. I only added 'localhost' to the connectionstring of web.config
(Data Source=localhost;Initial Catalog=Dashboard;user id=sa2;password=janina).

I restored the database by using

RESTORE DATABASE Dashboard
FROM DISK = 'C:\Docs\Dashboard.bak'
WITH RECOVERY, REPLACE

which succeeded.
Can somebody help me please, I apparently did something wrong.
Or maybe Sql express is not supported?

Thanks in advance!

AHUM, my mistake.
It all works fine.
Sorry.

(I forgot to put '\sqlexpress' in the connectionstring and 'localhost' was ofcourse wrong).

I had to setup mine like this:

Data Source=localhost\sqlexpress;Initial Catalog=Dashboard;Integrated Security=SSPI

That way I don't have to mess with SQL logins and users.
